Real name Judith Sheindlin, the 83-year-old shared that the current season of Judy Justice would be her last.
“I have a lot of other things of interest,” she told PEOPLE. “I don’t want to do hair and makeup anymore, but I still want my message to get out there.”
Sheindlin will be stepping behind the camera and working as a producer on Adam’s Law, a new TV court show featuring her 58-year-old son Adam Levy.
“There aren’t a lot of people who can carry a half hour on their own unscripted,” Sheindlin said. “He has what it takes.”
Judge Judy ended after 25 seasons in 2021, but Sheindlin went on to front Judy Justice, which is set to conclude in October.
With four Daytime Emmy Awards under her belt, Sheindlin admitted: “I don’t have to prove anything else. I did it.”
Judge Judy Sheindlin is reportedly closing the courtroom chapter of her television career at 83, with 'Judy Justice' set to end in October. But the famous gavel is staying in the family: her son Adam Levy, 58, is set to star in a new syndicated small-claims series called 'Adam’s Law.' Sheindlin will remain behind the scenes as a producer, saying she wants the message she’s delivered to audiences for decades to continue through the next generation.
And what a legacy she leaves behind... millions of daily viewers at her peak, multiple Daytime Emmys and one of the most recognizable personalities in daytime television.
